haiku by kevin
Haiku is a revered form of poetry that originated in Japan. Over the years, the traditional haiku form, which evokes emotions largely through descriptions of scenes from nature, has been adapted to other languages. This site features original haiku in English by Kevin, an amateur haiku poet. He sometimes uses unconventional haiku styles, while attempting to maintain the traditional spirit of this timeless poetic form.

I am an amateur poet and professional environmentalist. Non-tradional, an iconoclast, perhaps? I recently published a volume of haiku and other poetry called 'quarter', and manage a listserv of my haiku and more. Love the snowball picture. Makes me think of when I was a kid trying to hit the cars going down the street. Also the many wonderful snowball fights on the way home from school.
Love the gaping space where a photo of a snowball may once have stood. Makes me think of when I was on a forum called www.yourlost.com and a guy called Matt posted a photo of a snowball. Except he didn't delete it and subsequent replies, as I recall.
