Haiku is a revered form of poetry that originated in Japan. Over the years, the traditional haiku form, which evokes emotions largely through descriptions of scenes from nature, has been adapted to other languages. This site features original haiku in English by Kevin, an amateur haiku poet. He sometimes uses unconventional haiku styles, while attempting to maintain the traditional spirit of this timeless poetic form.

There is something about the short daylight, the cold of winter and the snow that is relaxing. It truly makes us slow down a bit. I just want to cuddle under a blanket on the sofa in fromt of my fireplace with a good book. How relaxing after busy time in the light of day.
hiatus from work or haiku?
Enjoy the hiatus, and thank you for a year of wonderful haiku.
Happy New Year.
